Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas
Cherry has been a judge since 2000 and president judge since January 2020. Previously, he was Dauphin County district attorney for six years.
“As president judge, I oversee the Dauphin County Court administration, magisterial district judges, jury administration, probation and parole, fines and costs, work release, domestic relations, law library and court reporters,” he said. “I also preside over cases in the Civil Court Division, Children and Youth, Guardianships and Adoptions.”
Cherry said the most important work he does is with kids. “Removing children who suffer emotional and physical abuse at the hands of their parents and finding homes for them through adoption provides an opportunity to have a happy, healthy life, and grants them the right of every child – to be loved.”
For fun, Cherry spends time with his wife, Camille, and their children and grandchildren. “I love reading the classics and mysteries,” he added, “and watching old movies.”
