Wanner represents a variety of design and construction interests including design professionals, contractors, building trades and related industries. He is also active in issues involving gaming, appropriations, economic development, energy, healthcare and chambers of commerce. He has been in his current position 38 years.
He said Wanner Associates has enjoyed great success securing funding for many of its clients as part of the Commonwealth budget. The same is true for policy issues. “Last session, the firm spearheaded the passage of Deanna’s Law (providing stiffer penalties for repeat DUI offenders) on a pro bono basis. That was one of several bills that were enacted with our support. Likewise, it was a successful legislative session for our appropriations clients which cover multiple agencies and programs,” Wanner said.
He graduated from Alvernia University with a degree in political science after spending his last semester working with the PA Chamber of Commerce. Upon graduation, he was immediately hired as the Director of Legislative and Government Affairs for the PA Society of Professional Engineers. In 1985, he founded Wanner Associates providing both lobbying and association management services. “The firm has long been regarded as central Pennsylvania’s leading association management/advocacy company,” Wanner said.
