Attorney
Katherman, Briggs & Greenberg LLP
“My responsibilities as an attorney with KBG continue to evolve,” said John D. Briggs, of Katherman, Briggs & Greenberg. “Over the years, our firm expanded into five locations with 13 attorneys serving clients throughout Pennsylvania in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, workers’ compensation, Social Security Disability and insurance company bad faith.” In addition to developing new client referral sources and building KBG’s client base, he directly consults with clients regarding their cases and confers with the firm’s other attorneys.
“Last year, as I was helping a friend with the death of a child, I struggled to maintain my perspective – even though I have years of experience dealing with people who are enduring loss,” Briggs said. “The challenge is always how to care and, at the same time, maintain the necessary distance to advocate effectively. Although I would like to say I took steps to overcome this challenge, an advocate must simply accept this dissonance as part of the process when helping clients, such as my friend.”
He said it is a privilege to practice law and advocate for clients “who are dealing with some of the most trying times in their lives. Inspiration to practice law and represent these individuals comes from understanding our clients’ legal challenges and then seeing them obtain meaningful results. I am also inspired by the talented attorneys and staff working diligently on behalf of clients.”
