Jim Hoehn
Regional President, Central Pennsylvania
PNC Bank
Hoehn has served as regional president for 12 years.
He said his leadership style has evolved from a “lead by example” approach to a coaching style. “By developing others, we leverage the culture, capabilities and attributes of PNC to a greater scale for the benefit of all of our constituents. It’s my job to define success for the team and help chart course. At PNC, we don’t prioritize quick wins over long-term success. Good leadership means making the next right decision in the near-term to plant seeds that will grow into sustainable prosperity for our clients and community,” Hoehn said.
Technically his first job in the industry was cleaning a bank branch while in high school and working part-time in the mail room of a bank while attending college. “But in earnest, my banking career began at the Federal Reserve Bank where I worked as a bank examiner focused on banking safety and soundness. I examined many banks both large and small which gave me key insights into what drives success, and failure, in the sector. I’ve never been afraid to ask questions and take on new challenges,” he said.
He enjoys spending time with family and being outdoors, whether it’s golfing or fishing. Hoehn said it has always been important to him to focus on helping the broader community, particularly by promoting economic development.
