Harrisburg-based JEM Group recently kicked off a $2.5 million addition and renovation project at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank’s Williamsport facility, the construction services firm announced last week.

The project, which will be completed in November, includes site work, construction of concrete retaining walls and foundations to support two new metal buildings that total more than 12,000 square feet. JEM also will oversee renovations of the existing building and install a demonstration kitchen.

“This is a transformational project for the food bank, from a warehouse to a healthy food hub,” said Derick Fritchey, director of operations, as onsite capacity will nearly double.
