In a previous Power List profile, Stauffer said this about his leadership style: “I encourage respectful open dialogue and participation. I try to create an atmosphere where leaders can and do speak up even when their views differ from mine. I feel that this style is effective in encouraging innovation, growth and change necessary to remain relevant in a rapidly changing industry, while remaining true to our roots.”
He started his career as a teller at Ephrata National Bank in 1982. Stauffer has held various positions over the last four-plus decades, including assistant branch manager, collections, commercial loan officer, commercial lending manager and senior lender. He was appointed president and CEO in January 2020 and chairman of the board in May 2020.
On LinkedIn, Stauffer described himself as a “a community banker who enjoys building relationships with individuals and local business owners in order to help them achieve their financial goals.”
Outside of work, he enjoys fishing and family time. He also volunteers with nonprofits supporting community service work, education and health care. “I treasure the moments spent with my family,” he said in the earlier Power List profile, “and fishing gives me an opportunity for relaxation, quiet time and reflection.”
