Jeff Lobach said he devotes equal time to two roles. As Barley Snyder managing partner, he is the firm’s CEO, responsible for strategic direction and all operations. He is also a transactional lawyer providing counsel to businesses, nonprofits and individuals.
He enjoys both jobs.
Lobach has been with Barley Snyder for more than 30 years. He’s in the 10th year serving as the firm’s managing partner, the longest tenure in the firm’s history. With 122 lawyers in 11 offices, the firm has more than doubled in size under his leadership. In early 2022, he oversaw the addition of Wyomissing-based law firm Leisawitz Heller to Barley Snyder, a move that added 14 attorneys and 30 total employees.
Lobach has served on or chaired more than a dozen boards across the region. One highlight of his career is the pro bono asylum project for the “Golden Venture” refugees while he was serving as president of the York County Bar Association. “We helped hundreds of refugees (some of whom are now part of my family), unified diverse elements in the community, and showcased compassion in central Pennsylvania,” Lobach said.
An important life lesson he’s learned in business and community settings: It is not about me. It is not about you. It is about us.
