“It takes the entire team to be successful and no one person is more important than the other,” said James Robinson, regional banking manager for S&T Bank. “I am there to support, coach and mentor. I pride my leadership style around being very approachable; my team knows that they can always come to me and I will listen to what they have to say. We are there to bounce ideas off each other to ensure we are always doing the right thing for our customer and the bank.”
In Robinson’s case, it’s like father, like son. His dad’s career was in finance “and I have always been fascinated with being able to help others with their finances,” he said. “It is a rewarding career where you are able to make a difference in others’ lives. Finances are one of the three most important parts of a person’s life, along with family and health. To have the ability to save a customer money, make them more money or add convenience to their lives is what drives me each and every day.”
Robinson spends every free moment has with wife Andrea and sons Cody and Reed on the sports fields. “I coach my sons in lacrosse and baseball in the spring and summer, help coach their football teams in the fall, and get to enjoy watching my youngest wrestle in the winter. I love watching them play sports and seeing the competitiveness in them both. Sports played a major role in the leader I have become today and I hope it does the same for them.”
