A Thai version of Panera Bread is coming to downtown York.
Jai Delp and her husband, Sam, recently purchased the former
National Grille restaurant on Beaver
Street. They plan to change it into a Thai
restaurant called Esaan. The restaurant is expected to open within several
weeks.
Delp, who is Thai, compared Esaan’s atmosphere to that of
the Panera Bread cafés scattered throughout the midstate. The restaurant will
feature casual lunch service and offer Wi-Fi access, Delp said. The menu will
include traditional Thai meals like curries and pad Thai, among other dishes.
“It will be something quick and good and healthy,” she said.
