In brief: SBA, state officials to outline stimulus for business

Members of the state Stimulus Oversight Commission and the state Department of Community and Economic Development also will speak about the stimulus, according to Harrisburg-based United Way of the Capital Region.

The United Way is sponsoring the event with the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, also of Harrisburg.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Hilton Harrisburg. Those interested in attending should reserve a seat by calling the United Way at 238-7365.

President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act — the $787 billion economic stimulus package — into law in February. The initiative pumped money into health, education, social welfare and transportation programs.
