The Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union, also known as PSECU, expects to complete construction of its new headquarters in Susquehanna Township by August 2013, said Alan Brunner, the project’s manager.
The credit union plans to spend $71 million on construction and land development of the facility, which is being built on 47 acres on Elmerton Avenue.
Migration of employees from the existing Harrisburg office near Harrisburg Area Community College’s main campus should begin by fall and could take until the end of 2013, Brunner said.
The 239,000-square-foot facility will be able to support up to 750 employees with expansion capabilities that could serve the credit union for several decades, Brunner said.
PSECU employs about 500 at its headquarters and more than 600 in total, said Nathan Muniz, the credit union’s public relations manager.
“The way the building is being constructed, we have the capability to essentially double our workforce without having to make substantial standalone construction on that property,” he said. “It could easily last us 50 years.”
PSECU operates out of a 189,000-square-foot facility right now. That building was constructed in 1990.
Pittsburgh-based PJ Dick is the general contractor on the project.
