Harrisburg Mayor Stephen R. Reed last month dedicated the city offices of insurance-brokerage firm Riggs, Counselman, Michael & Downes on the 10th floor of the Wachovia building at 30 N. Third St.
Before occupying the offices last month, the brokers operated out of a temporary site at 305 N. Front St., also in Harrisburg.
RCM&D was founded in 1885. The company is employee-owned and manages more than $450 million worth of insurance premiums, Reed said.
The company is based in Baltimore and has other locations in Bethesda, Md.; Richmond, Va.; and Virginia Beach, Va. RCM&D employs 275 people.
