The Penn State Hershey Breast Center has been awarded national certification, Dauphin County-based Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center announced last week.
The breast center earned a perfect score, meeting all 27 standards set by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, which is administered by the American College of Surgeons.
The announcement said it is the first such facility in Central Pennsylvania to attain the three-year full certification.
“This achievement reflects the dedication of our entire breast team to provide the optimum in breast care,” said Rena Kass M.D., co-director of the center, in a statement.
