Lancaster Red Rose Credit Union asked the state Banking Department for permission to convert to a community charter covering Lancaster County. A community charter allows a credit union to recruit virtually anyone in a particular area, rather than just members of select organizations. Credit-union members were set to vote on the charter conversion March 20, after the Business Journal went to press. Red Rose had more than 5,700 members and assets of about $44.4 million as of December.
