A taste of Ireland has made its way to Lebanon. Cahill’s Fish and Chips opened Aug. 10 at 7 N. Ninth St.

A taste of Ireland has made its way to Lebanon. Cahill’s Fish and Chips opened Aug. 10 at 7 N. Ninth St.

The 425-square-foot eatery mimics the charm of an Irish chippie, which is a tiny dining facility with a small menu that serves chicken or fish and chips, said Suzanne Cahill, Cahill’s owner. Cahill’s shop holds four tables and 10 stools and offers fish, chicken or bangers (Irish sausages) and chips, Sheppard’s pie, and a corned-beef and cabbage stew.

The shop is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and is run by Cahill’s family. Cahill said she hopes to eventually acquire a liquor license and a permit that would allow guests to bring their own alcoholic beverages.
