Under the agreement, Waste Management will collect ceiling tile removed from commercial renovation and demolition projects. The Houston-based company, the nation’s largest trash hauler, will ship the material to Armstrong for use in manufacturing new tile.
The partnership will keep thousands of tons of ceiling tile out of landfills, Armstrong said. Since its recycling program began in 1999, the company has recycled more than 123 million square feet of old tile, it said.
