A longtime member of Harrisburg Young Professionals will become the organization’s president in 2018.
Suzanne Patackis, a former biologics and joint preservation specialist at Dauphin County-based Zimmer Biomet Riccione, a medical equipment supplier, has been named the next leader of the nonprofit organization’s board. She has been a member of HYP for six years.
She replaces Joe Tertel, who becomes the immediate past-president of the organization. HYP, which was founded in 1998 and has helped spur growth for other young professional organizations in the region, also filled out the rest of its board.
Joining Patackis in HYP leadership next year will be Jeff Copus, an art teacher at Harrisburg Academy and co-founder of Sprocket Mural Works. He will serve as vice president, along with Adeolu Bakare, an associate at McNees Wallace & Nurick.
Brittany Brock, a vice president of commercial lending at M&T Bank will serve as secretary. Meanwhile, Jeremy Scheibelhut, a certified public accountant and manager at Boyer & Ritter LLC, will continue for a second year in his role as treasurer.
Other new board members include:
● Kelsey Ireland, an associate at KPMG
● Kara Luzik Canale, vice president of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC
● Adam Porter, manager of Midtown Cinema, and co-founder of Startup Harrisburg and Provisions, a neighborhood grocery store in downtown Harrisburg.
The 2018 leadership and board will begin their terms on Jan. 1.
