Harrisburg entrepreneur Adam Porter is adding another title to his resume: president of Harrisburg Young Professionals.

Porter, the co-founder of Startup Harrisburg, the city’s first co-working space, has been named president of the nonprofit organization for 2019. He also is co-owner of Provisions, a small grocery store in downtown Harrisburg, and the manager of the Midtown Cinema.

Porter replaces Suzanne Patackis, who becomes the immediate past-president of the organization.

HYP was founded in 1998 and has helped spur growth for other young professional organizations in the region. In addition to naming a new president, it also added new board leaders and members.

Joining Porter in HYP leadership next year will be Jeremy Scheibelhut, manager at Boyer & Ritter LLC, and Brandon Boring, mobile service supervisor at Altec Industries. They will serve as vice presidents.

Sydney Kyler, COO at Enders Insurance Associates will serve as treasurer, while Mary Kate Grimes, program events manager at Capital Area Girls on the Run, will serve as secretary. Kyler and Grimes are new to the board.

Other new board members include:

  • Jade Honey, director of development at UPMC Pinnacle.
  • Faniel Yemane, new business development at iDrive Interactive LLC

The 2019 leadership and board will begin their terms on Jan. 1.
