HU, Team PA host startup movement brainstorming today

Jim T. Ryan//April 18, 2012

Harrisburg-based Team PA, with support from Gov. Tom Corbett and State College-based Ben Franklin Technology Partners, is holding the session from noon to 6 p.m. to gauge interest in beginning a Startup Region through the Startup America Partnership. The Washington, D.C.-based partnership focuses on connecting entrepreneurs with government and the broader business community to help them grow and create jobs.

Startup Regions are designed to be the grassroots level of the partnership, where established local companies help identify high-growth potential startups and foster their continued success, according to the partnership.

Today’s event is meant to gauge the interest for such a region in Pennsylvania and discuss future organization, according to Team PA. It will be held on the 14th floor of Harrisburg University‘s main building at 326 Market St. in Harrisburg.
