Leacock Township, Lancaster County-based Hoober announced on Thursday that it purchased the assets of Dubberly Tractor & Equipment and will operate its tenth brick-and-mortar location out of the former tractor and equipment store in Chester, Virginia.
Hoober was founded in 1941 and has locations in Intercourse, Mifflintown and Chambersburg, as well as three in Virginia, two in Delaware, two in Maryland.
This year, the company has also grown its relationship as a dealer with farm equipment company Kubota, adding a new contract to deal Kubota equipment through its Wakefield, Virginia location, along with acquiring Dubberly’s Kubota contract as part of the sale.
“Adding the Kubota lineup is tremendous for the people in the community and customers in the region,” said Chuck Hoober, co-owner of Hoober Inc. “Kubota is proven to provide customers with extremely reliable and cost-effective solutions and Kubota is a company with a great track record for performance among homeowners and those in the landscaping, construction, rural lifestyle and agricultural communities.”
