Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Homesale Realty is relocating its Mount Joy office to a larger space on East Main Street to give the company more room for new agents in a hot housing market.
Central Pennsylvania’s largest residential real estate company is moving to a nearly 2,600-square-foot office at 102 E. Main St. The company’s current office, at 65 E. Main St., is about 910 square feet. The move is expected to occur this month.
COO Rod Messick said the new office can support up to 20 agents. The Manor Township-based company, which is more commonly known as Homesale Realty, currently has seven agents in Mount Joy.
“We expect to add at least five more this year,” Messick said.
Homesale has 28 offices in Pennsylvania and Maryland. The company recently opened an office in downtown Shippensburg to help it serve Cumberland and Franklin counties.
Homesale has more than 1,300 agents. Messick said he expects to add between 150 and 200 agents this year, with 40 already hired toward the goal.
The company finished 2017 with more than 14,700 transactions and more than $3.1 billion in closed-sale volume. Those numbers were up from nearly 14,700 and about $2.9 billion in volume in 2016.
