Home products manufacturer acquires contract flooring company

Harrisburg-based Frontier Surfaces has acquired Builder Flooring Solutions (BFS) of Harrisburg, a contract flooring company that services builders, developers, and multifamily property owners.
Scott Appel, owner of Frontier Surfaces (FS), which sells flooring, cabinets, counters, and millwork to United States and Canadian based big box stores, flooring distributors, mass merchandisers said the acquisition allows him to return to his roots in the contract flooring world.
Appel is the former founder and CEO of Touch of Color Flooring, which he sold two years ago to start FS to manufacture his own line of interior home products in 2021.

Geoff Graydon will remain president of BFS. Appel will take over as CEO, he said.

“It was an easy decision to partner with Scott as he has already proven that he can build and grow this type of business,” Graydon said. “Given the strategic relationship that Builder Flooring Solutions has with Frontier Surfaces, BFS can now supply products that FS makes both here in the USA and overseas, and this gives us a huge competitive advantage.”
