A Dauphin County automotive dealership is getting a major facelift this year.
York-based Stewart & Tate Construction this month kicked off a $3.9 million construction project at Hoffman Ford on Jonestown Road in Lower Paxton Township.
The eight-month improvement project includes demolition of the current showroom, customer service and office areas. Once the demolition is completed, Stewart & Tate will build a new showroom, three service reception lanes, a retail area for parts and accessories, vehicle delivery bays and a new customer lounge and cafe area.
The construction will not impact the dealership’s service and collision bays. Hoffman Ford will remain open during the remodeling project, which was designed by York-based architectural engineering firm CORE Design Group.
The Dauphin County Ford dealer has been in business since 1953. The company was started in Highspire and moved in 1978 to its current location in the Colonial Park area.
