Hersheypark has announced details for the new culinary and shopping experiences it has planned for Hershey’s Chocolatetown, the new area of the amusement park that is scheduled to open next summer.
Among the year-round dining and retail offerings will be The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio, the largest, full-service restaurant in Hershey with seating for 300 indoors and 100 outdoors. The restaurant will feature an open kitchen design and a Carrousel-themed bar. The decor will include past and present pieces from the Hersheypark ride collection, views of neighboring attractions, and a second-story patio and bar. Guests will have the option of dining with Hershey characters at breakfast.
Chocolatetown will also feature Milton’s Ice Cream Parlor, a vintage-style ice cream parlor that will serve up made-to-order sundaes and shakes. The ice cream–in a dozen rotating flavors–will be made in house. The parlor will have seating for approximately 60 patrons inside and 90 outside. A shop named The Sweeterie will be located next door and offer up confections created on site.
The Hersheypark Supply Co. will be located in the same building as the restaurant, ice cream parlor and confectionery. The 10,000-square-foot flagship store will offer the largest collection of apparel, gifts and toys in Hersheypark.
Opening in summer 2020 as part of a $150 million expansion, the 23-acre development of Hershey’s Chocolatetown will also boast Candymonium, the tallest, fastest and longest coaster at Hersheypark. Additionally, there will be a new front gate entrance to the park; a signature Kisses Fountain; a Starbucks store; and other shopping and play experiences .
After announcing the story behind Hershey’s Chocolatetown one year ago, construction began in January 2019. You can follow developments at hersheypark.com/chocolatetown.
