Hersheypark has announced that for its 116th operating season, the chocolate-centric theme park will be going cashless.
Hersheypark begins its 2022 season this year with its annual Springtime in The Park event, beginning April 2nd. Visitors to the spring event will find that the park has foregone cash payments and is now completely cashless.
The park will accept credit cards, debit cards and Hersheypark gift cards, as well as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay.
For guests without credit or debit cards, Hersheypark has rolled out five Cash-to-Card kiosks across the park that will exchange cash for a plastic prepaid Visa Debit Card that can be loaded up with up to $500.
In a statement on the new changes to the park, Hershey Entertainment and Resorts said that it is always exploring technology that can enhance the guest experience.
“Our in-house information technology team has been researching solutions and vendors for several years,” said Quinn Bryner, director of public relations at Hershey Entertainment and Resorts. “Cashless transactions are faster, safer and more secure. Guests will spend less time waiting in the checkout on change and more time enjoying their favorite rides or other attractions.”
