The Hershey Lodge will change its day-to-day leadership for the first time in almost five years when Jason Heath is promoted to general manager July 1.

Heath will replace current general manager Frank Gilbert, who served for 41 years with Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Co., which runs the lodge. He had been general manager since November 2011, according to company officials.

The company announced last summer that Gilbert would retire effective June 30.

Heath is being promoted from director of resorts sales and revenue management for Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Co. He has 24 years of sales and marketing experience in the hospitality industry, according to the company.

Hershey Lodge is one of the biggest resorts and convention centers in Central Pennsylvania at 665 rooms and 100,000 square feet of meeting space in 35 rooms.

The lodge expects to open a new indoor pool complex, Hershey’s Water Works at Hershey Lodge, around Memorial Day. The new complex will feature a pool, splash pad and water slides.
