Hershey’s Plant Based Extra Creamy with Almonds and Sea Salt

Hey, vegan chocolate lovers, The Hershey Co. hears you loud and clear.

Tuesday, the global confectioner announced it was launching a pair of milk chocolate alternative products nationwide. For customers looking for more plant-based snacks, there’s now Hershey’s Plant Based Extra Creamy With Almonds and Sea Salt bar and Reese’s Plant Based Peanut Butter Cups to munch on.

Plant Based by Hershey is coming to shelves this spring. Plant Based Peanut Butter Cups are available in March, followed by the Plant Based Extra Creamy bar in April.

“We are excited to introduce these delicious, plant-based options,” Teal Liu, brand manager of Better For You at The Hershey Co., said in a release. “Our purpose is to create more moments of goodness for consumers. Those moments are now more accessible for chocolate lovers looking for plant-based alternatives.” Tests of nondairy chocolate bars by Hershey began in stores in 2021.

Hershey has long offered a wide variety of choices for consumers. To meet the changing needs of some snackers, Hershey has added portion-controlled treats, no sugar added, zero sugar, high protein and now plant based.

The company has approximately 19,000 employees around the world and more than 100 brand names in approximately 80 countries that drive more than $10 billion in annual revenue.
