Tim Ames, president and CEO of Heritage Valley Federal Credit Union, is retiring in February 2019 after 15 years at the helm.
Taking his place is Mike Gutshall who has been with Heritage Valley for nearly 11 years. Gutshall was hired as vice president of lending in 2007 and later promoted to executive vice president in 2014.
Under Ames, the credit union’s assets have grown from $52 million to $85 million.
Ames, who worked for Heritage Valley for 17 years overall, was instrumental in adapting technology to better serve its members. Now, members can access their credit union accounts and apply for loans anytime and from anywhere.
“It has been a great pleasure to be a part of and to lead such a fine financial organization since 2001. I look forward to what the future holds for Heritage Valley and its members,” Ames said in a statement.
Founded in 1935, Heritage Valley is based in Springettsbury Township with branches in Spring Garden Township and York. It has about 12,400 members, according to the National Credit Union Administration.
