Chairman
Fry Communications Inc.
In 1934, Fry Communications, Inc. began as one of the first publishers of weekly shopping guides. A small family operation, the company focused on publishing, but not printing, that shopper for over 30 years. It continues to be published today and now includes online advertising opportunities to expand its reach.
Henry Fry, the current chairman of the board, purchased the company’s first offset press in 1967. In 1970, Fry Communications expanded into printing government and commercial materials. Within five years Fry became the largest federal contract printer in the country.
Over the years, the company’s commercial non-heatset printing grew, enabling it to expand into business-to-business catalogs and trade and consumer magazines. Currently over a million square feet of manufacturing space has the Fry name on it. Inside those buildings are nearly two dozen presses, over two dozen binders, a vast array of auxiliary equipment, several new technologies, advanced systems and just over 1,000 employees.
