The 20th annual Rebuilding Together home-improvement
event will take place tomorrow in Harrisburg.
Dozens of volunteers will help repair and upgrade houses
throughout the city, Mayor Stephen R. Reed said in a statement.
The Rebuilding Together program will pay for all repair
expenses through financial contributions, donated materials and supplies and
equipment from corporate sponsors and local businesses, Reed said. All
donations are tax deductible, he said.
The program is part of a national Rebuilding Together
effort. More than 200,000 volunteers across the nation will help rebuild the
homes of low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners and families with
children, Reed said. Volunteers will help rebuild about 10,000 houses and
community centers across the country, he said.
