Gregory Courtney is CEO of Global Data Consultants, a company he founded in 1995.
His leadership style is collaborative, Courtney said. “I value prioritizing people within the organization by communicating, delegating, and facilitating the tools and support our leaders require to succeed. Most leadership decisions are straightforward; however, they are not always easy. Listening is another significant component of leadership. Collecting feedback from all stakeholders is critical to achieving the highest quality.”
He has been engaged in the information technology Industry his whole life. “As a contract IT professional, my father moved our family around the United States as his career advanced. He shared with me his core principles on how to approach the customer, co-workers and the task at hand. These timeless values helped build the foundation for GDC. Following my tour of duty with the Marines, I embraced his principles with newfound motivation, and his help and guidance gave me the support needed to start GDC.”
Courtney is passionate about his company and works hard. “When I spend time with family and friends, though, it usually involves watersports, swimming and boating,” he said. “The constant change of water is refreshing to me. It calms and centers me. I return to business fully recharged and energized for the challenges ahead.”
