Courtney has served in his current role for 27 years. He is responsible for providing strategic, financial, marketing, and operational leadership for the company. Courtney says since GDC is a privately owned entity, senior leadership acts as the board of directors to develop a vision that is best for the company. “Once a consensus is reached, I ensure the company remains focused on success. I provide senior leadership with the resources needed to execute and remain accountable for the implementation of our goals and key objectives,” he says.
Courtney says GDC faced challenges in 2022 similar to those of other companies: supply chain issues, long-term work-from-home transitions, and ongoing office space expenses. “However, the number one test was hiring and retaining talented people. We implemented a new recruitment team. They are constantly improving the process by which we attract high quality talent. Additionally, we improved how we train existing staff and focused on promoting from within. These changes have greatly improved our company culture,” Courtney says.
