Area Goodwill leaders said they’re always looking at convenience for customers and donors when considering a possible store location.
Convenience is a top reason why Harrisburg-based Goodwill Keystone Area is opening its fourth York County location at a site along Route 30 by the end of January, its senior director of marketing and public relations Jennifer Ross said Monday.
The 15,000-square-foot location will be the 48th store and donation center in 22 Central Pennsylvania counties, Ross said.
The main purpose of Goodwill stores is to fund programs and services to help individuals with disabilities learn job and life skills, she noted.
The new York-area location “is a good size, and we are always looking to make donating easier for people,” Ross said. “After all, without our donors or donations, we wouldn’t have stores to fund our mission.”
The new York City Goodwill Store & Donation Center is at 965 Loucks Road, next to a Staples store.
The small, white box-shaped building is on the western edge of Northwest Plaza, on the north side of Route 30. Goodwill is leasing the location through the end of June 2023 from LMS Commercial Real Estate, Ross said.
The new store is expected to have 15 employees, she said.
Goodwill’s other three locations in York County are located: on Roosevelt Avenue in West Manchester Township, just outside of York City; and in Hanover and Shrewsbury.
