Good Samaritan latest health system to stomp out smoking

Good Samaritan Health System plans to go tobacco free Jan. 1, according to a statement from the Lebanon-based organization.

Good Samaritan Health System plans to go tobacco free Jan. 1, according to a statement from the Lebanon-based organization.

The new policy means all tobacco use will be prohibited on hospital property. The health system will begin to offer tobacco-cessation classes in October for employees and patients who want to quit smoking.

Good Samaritan Health System is the latest in a string of health-care organizations in the midstate that have banned tobacco use during the past year.
