Harrisburg-based health care analytics and services firm Geneia announced its president Heather Lavoie will also be taking up the role of CEO, as current CEO Mark Caron retires on Monday.
Lavoie became Geneia’s president in 2018 and previously held positions with the company as chief strategy officer, president of Geneia innovations and COO since she first started at the firm in 2010.
Since joining Geneia, Lavoie has helped the firm develop its Geneia Data Intelligence Lab, a facility that helps health plans and providers identify major cost drivers. Lavoie was also a driving force in Geneia’s remote monitoring program that allows providers to monitor their most at-risk patients from their homes.
“Heather Lavoie is the heart and soul of Geneia,” said Caron. “Since day one, she’s been a leader at the company. I’m thrilled to entrust Geneia’s employees and its bright future to her very capable hands.”
Caron has led Geneia as its CEO for the past six years and spearheaded the company’s partnerships with Exellus Blue Cross Blue Shield and Horizon Healthcare Service Inc. The firm announced on Monday that Caron will be leaving the company effective April 6.
“For his entire career, Mark Caron has been at the forefront of leveraging leading-edge technology to benefit healthcare organizations and their patients, most recently as the architect of Geneia’s population analytics platform,” she said.
