Franklin Greiner Jr. is president and sole owner of Greiner Industries, a company he founded in his Mount Joy garage in 1976 that has grown exponentially, serving customers from a diverse industrial and geographic area, the company website said.

Within a year, he hired his first employee and built a 30,000-square-foot shop near Elizabethtown. The business moved again in 1986, buying 45-plus acres on Route 283 between Mount Joy and Elizabethtown, the start of several expansions through the years.

Today, Greiner Industries’ complex is over 200 acres, with 450,000 square feet of under-roof work area. The business, which employs more than 250 people, specializes in metal working, fabrication, machining, welding, piping, blasting, coating, mechanical and electrical installation, trucking, rigging and lifting.
