CGA Law
Countess’ father, Jon C. Countess, was a well-respected attorney in York County for 50 years. “He seemed to know everyone in the community, and from a child’s perspective he was certainly beloved everywhere he went. Being part of his household made it quite natural for me to ultimately seek out a profession where one could assist and befriend others in need.”
Today, Countess concentrates his practice in real estate, business law, commercial transactions, estate planning and administration. He was the chair of CGA Law Firm’s real estate group for seventeen years and is a supporter and board member of numerous nonprofit organizations within York County.
He said the most rewarding aspect of his career is the ability to serve individuals and the community “in a truly impactful manner. Being part of a locally owned … company allows us to engage and support civic and charitable organizations to a heightened degree, which wouldn’t be possible otherwise.”
Countess said his father “was, and forever will be, my greatest mentor. Despite being a founding member of York County’s largest law firm, he was an incredibly humble man. He treated everyone as an equal and never got caught up in the ‘mystique’ of being an attorney. He was always an ‘acts of service’ person. A true servant leader in the York community.”
