Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce is holding its first State of the County to give the business community an overview of the status of the county and an outlook for the future.
The May 25th event will include short presentations from seven areas including business and economic development, education and pipelines to employment, community health needs, tourism and quality of life, transportation and industry impacts, emergency preparedness, and an overview of the county’s financial health and budget pressures, the chamber said.
The focus of each presentation will lean toward its impact on the business community.
Chamber President and CEO Karen Groh said she has seen the importance and interconnection of each county department and community organization.
“Unless you’ve had the need to navigate for services, the average citizen isn’t aware of how many agencies keep a community running smoothly,” Groh said. “We want to showcase the work of these agencies and the amazing individuals who work hard behind the scenes.”
The response has been very positive since the event was announced and the Chamber said it expects it to be an annual event with subsequent years focusing on areas of significant growth or change.
“We’re hoping this event will showcase how wonderful it is to live, learn and work in Lebanon County and how each agency has an impact on our business community,” Groh said. “Businesses should leave with a better understanding of where things are going and how they can engage on a deeper level.”
The State of the County will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. May 25 at the Leedy Auditorium at Lebanon Valley College.
