The Family Business Forum, held on March 20, 2014, was a unique two-part event focused on family-owned and small businesses.
The afternoon’s first presentation, Leadership Transition: Preparing for and Implementing Your Succession, was led by Joanne B. Ladley (former owner of Kitchen Kettle). Panel participants were:
A second afternoon session, titled Best Practices for Building Multi-Generational Family Businesses, was led by John Reed of Barley Snyder and featured the leaders of three family businesses that are also the top 3 companies on CPBJ‘s list of privately held companies:
- Stew Hartman (Rutter’s Holdings Inc.)
- Dale High (High Companies)
- Izzy Schwab (D&H Distributing Co., Inc.)
The day wrapped up with a dinner program, which featured keynote speaker, Ron “Jaws” Jaworski, the presentation of the “Family Business Hall of Fame Award” to S. Dale High and tenure awards for members and partners of The High Center.
