ncoln Park Zoo is home to nearly 200 species. During this virtual experience, you will start your day with an intimate look at the fascinating animals living at Lincoln Park Zoo. Join Mike Murray, curator of mammals, on a journey to learn more about a specific animal group— from their habits and diets to their individualized care and general personality traits.

January 9: Live from Regenstein African Journey with TBA

Following the meet-and-greet, you will have the opportunity to ask moderated questions about your favorite animals, live from home!

Mike Murray, curator of mammals: Mike worked at three different zoos before joining Lincoln Park Zoo in 2017. His career started at Binder Park Zoo, and he has also worked at Denver Zoo and Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Mike currently oversees the species and keeper teams at Regenstein African Journey, Walter Family Arctic Tundra, Pepper Family Wildlife Center, Kovler Seal Pool, and Farm- in-the-Zoo. He actively works with other departments and organizations accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) on maintaining optimal animal welfare and sustainable populations.

Actively involved in AZA programs, Mike is the Species Survival Plan® (SSP) coordinator for Nile lechwe, a vice-chair of Antelope and Giraffe Taxon Advisory Group, and a steering committee member for the African Painted Dog SSP®. Mike is also active with Polar Bears International working climate change conservation action.
