Janae M. McAfee Director of Client Consulting and Product Development

As the Director of Pharmacy Client Consulting and Product Development in Highmark’s Pharmacy, Product & Market Strategies, Janae is responsible for the execution of the pharmacy strategy across all sales markets. Some specifics include pharmacy consultation for retention and new business opportunities, product strategy and execution, marketing strategy consultation, pharmacy broker and producer strategy, as well as pharmacy communications strategy for all of pharmacy markets.

Janae began her career with Highmark in 2014 as a clinical consultant pharmacist, moved to a manager role in 2015 within pharmacy services, was promoted to a pharmacy director role in 2017 and has held multiple director titles to current day within the pharmacy services organization at Highmark. All roles have been focused on supporting client facing activity.

Janae lives in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh with her husband and 4 kids (age ranges 19, 13,12 and 1). They are her world and keep her very busy!

She attended Gannon University for undergraduate school and graduated from LECOM school of Pharmacy with her Doctorate in Pharmacy. Aside from a pharmacist license, she also holds her immunization license and is certified in MTM. She has enjoyed volunteering to help vaccinate the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.


Douglas Callenberger, Director of Sales, Highmark, Inc.

Douglas Callenberger and his teams have responsibility for new business growth in Central PA, the Lehigh Valley and Northeast PA. Doug has over 24 years of sales and client management leadership experience in the employee benefits industry. He has a strong knowledge of the healthcare industry and possesses the ability to successfully manage, motivate, and develop teams of sales professionals for Highmark Blue Shield.

Doug is a strong believer in the practice of Servant Leadership. This is exhibited through his involvement and support of several community organizations during college and his professional career. He has served on various committees and boards, most recently as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation (CAEDC) from 2012-2018. He now serves CAEDC as Immediate Past Chair. Doug now actively serves on the Keystone Human Services Partnership Board of Directors as well as the Harrisburg Chamber Board of Directors.

Doug graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Policy and Administration. He has supported Penn State and his degree program throughout his career serving as a guest lecturer in Health Policy and Insurance classes as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the College of Health Human Development.
