Lancaster and Lebanon County school districts and IU13 have a huge demand for a variety of support positions. Chief among the positions needed are paraeducators and personal care aides, both of whom work directly with children and teachers in the classroom.
To learn more about these positions, you can attend the Countywide Education Job Fair on Monday, October 21, 2019, from 1-5 p.m. It will take place at two locations: the IU13 Lancaster located at 1020 New Holland Pike, and the IU13 Lebanon, located at One Cumberland St. Eleven school districts in Lancaster County and several other support service organizations will be at the Lancaster location. Two school districts — Eastern Lebanon County and Palmyra Area — as well as IU13 will be at the Lebanon location.
“Many people discount working in education because they believe they need a specific degree or background in the field, but this is often not the case,” says Noel Johns, IU13 Program Director for Staffing and Employee Relations. “While experience is always nice, we want candidates to know if they have the heart, desire, and dedication to work with students, we can train them on the more technical aspects of the job.”
Among the positions available are classroom aides (paraeducators); personal care assistants; cafeteria workers; custodians; office staff; van and bus drivers; and health room nurses.
