Lancaster-based Eastern Insurance Holdings Inc. reported
first-quarter earnings of $2.6 million, down from the $3.2 million the company
reported for the same period last year.
Earnings per diluted share were 26 cents, down from 29 cents
in the year-ago period. Analysts expected earnings per share of 37 cents,
according to Yahoo! Finance.
Eastern Insurance’s revenue for the quarter was $35.5
million, up from $33 million in the same period last year.
The company and its subsidiaries offer domestic casualty
insurance; group, accident and life insurance; offshore specialty reinsurance;
and workers’ compensation and third-party claims administration.
Eastern Insurance shares trade on the Nasdaq under the
ticker symbol EIHI.
