York Day Nursery is opening a second location this fall, on the campus of York County School of Technology.
The site will serve children ages 6 weeks to 3 years. It will also allow students in York Tech’s early childhood education program greater access to workforce development opportunities through co-ops.
“We’re grateful for the opportunity to open a second York Day Nursery center and bring high-quality early childhood education to more children throughout York County,” Brian Grimm, president and CEO, said in a release. “The early childhood education we provide is setting our kids on a path toward a brighter future, including the over 70% of our students living in low-income households. Our new center will nearly double the number of young children we’re able to care for and educate.”
David Thomas, administrative director of York Tech, added: “As a technical education school, we strive to prepare our students for both the career field and higher education. What better way to do so than with hands-on experience with a top-notch and respected early learning center.”
The release said that the new location was made possible by “the generous support of loyal donors and advocates for early learning.”
Established in 1932, York Day Nursery is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
