The new restaurant, the first new Isaac’s Famous Grilled Sandwiches location in York in 17 years, will open at West Market and South Beaver streets.
The model “reflects an urban feel and faster pace of service” and was devised by “listening to the desires of our younger customer base,” Phil Lapp, director of marketing and menu, said in a company news release.
Isaac’s on the Fly is scheduled to open the week of March 20 and host private events before opening to the public on March 27, officials with Lancaster-based Isaac’s said.
The Isaac’s on the Fly express model is the latest in the company’s line of newer formats, which includes a bar and grill in downtown Lancaster.
The company, known for its colorful array of sandwiches, opened its flagship restaurant in downtown Lancaster in 1983 and today operates a total of 18 restaurants, 16 of them are customary casual-dining locations.
“These various formats offer us flexibility to adapt the model to the real estate and local demographics,” said Mike Weaver, Isaac’s president and CEO.
“We believe the express model is a perfect fit for downtown York, and will consider future locations as more opportunities become available”.
Isaac’s had announced its plans for the downtown York location in late summer 2016.
Isaac’s in York is to be one of the tenants of the new REVI Flats redevelopment project, officials had said when the new Isaac’s was announced.
