D&H Distributing Co. Inc., Central Pennsylvania’s largest private company by revenue, continues to rank high on a prestigious national list.
The Harrisburg-based company ranks as the 109th-largest private company in the country, according to Forbes magazine’s annual list of America’s Largest Private Companies. D&H has ranked among the top 125 since 2015 and it has been on the list every year since 2009, when it debuted at No. 242.
The list cites D&H revenue at $3.9 billion, just behind sound pioneer Bose of Massachusetts and ahead of Texas hospitality company Fertitta Entertainment.
Four Pennsylvania companies rank ahead of D&H — Pittsburgh-based grocery chain Giant Eagle (No. 38), convenience store chains Wawa (No. 25) of Philadelphia and Sheetz (No. 59) of Altoona, and Asplundh Tree Expert of Allentown (No. 102).
Six other Pennsylvania companies — 84 Lumber (No. 125), Armada (No. 159), Day & Zimmerman (No. 181), TMS International (No. 201), Guttman Energy (No. 215) and Morgan Lewis (No. 226) — also made the list.
