Developers will restore a dilapidated property near the
commercial center of Harrisburg’s
Allison Hill into a 16-unit apartment complex.

Work on the project at 240 S. 13th St. began in October, said Brian Fentiman,
one of the developers. The property
includes a former mansion with 12 units and a former carriage house with four
units.

Fentiman and his partners bought the property for about
$220,000 and plan to spend a similar amount on the renovations, he said. Their
company is Lehigh County-based Properties America Network, which has an office
in York. Harrisburg-based
Major Repairs is doing the renovation, which is expected to be completed in
February.

Rents will range from about $575 for single-bedroom
apartments to about $750 for three-bedroom units, Fentiman said.

The team is working on assembling nearby properties for a
parking lot that would serve apartment residents and would have additional
spaces available for lease, Fentiman said. The mansion is down the street from
a small shopping plaza and the neighborhood’s PNC Bank branch. The property has not had tenants in
years, Fentiman said.
