David Stewart is CEO of The Stewart Cos., a third-generation, family-owned portfolio of businesses that participate in a variety of industries, including building materials, construction, real estate development, and automobile sales and service. “In my role, my primary focus is on strategic business development, overall enterprise growth and further fostering the successful business culture that my grandfather started over 85 years ago,” Stewart explained.

Last year, “our businesses were challenged in two key areas – executing our growth strategies and overcoming the tight labor market,” he said. “We successfully executed several strategic transactions that will support the company’s growth ambitions for years to come. Regarding labor challenges, we bolstered our internal talent acquisition resources, launched our first internal leadership development program, and opened an onsite health center to provide high-quality, low-cost care to our employees and their families.”
