Pfaltzgraff workers who are likely to lose their jobs if the company’s Thomasville plant closes as scheduled in October are compiling a catalog of their skills.
The Manufacturers’ Association of South Central Pennsylvania hired Educational Data Systems Inc. of Dearborn, Mich., to produce a database that will log each Pfaltzgraff worker’s job history and particular abilities.
The information will be provided to potential employers, who will get a chance to meet workers in person at a Sept. 29 job fair. The database is being funded by a $60,000 state grant, said Michael Smeltzer, the manufacturers’ association’s executive director.
