Today it’s a new brand name for the Silver Spring Township-based construction company.

The Cumberland County company, which has been in business for more than 90 years, announced it will now market itself as simply Mowery.

“Raymond Mowery built this business on the foundation of relationships that last a lifetime and that foundation will continue to stand strong as we continue to adapt and grow,” said David Cross, president and COO, hired last year to take over the day-to-day operations from longtime leader Don Mowery.

Over the past five months, Mowery has hired five employees and grown the team by 10 percent. The focus has been on field supervisors, project managers and estimators, officials said.

The company also has invested in technology, including a cloud-based project management system and more mobile devices in the field.

Mowery, which finished last year with $137.5 million in revenue last year, specializes in industrial, higher education, automotive dealerships and senior living facilities.

Expansion into new vertical markets and a wider geographic footprint could happen in the next year or two, as demand picks up or as clients grow into neighboring markets, Cross said recently. The company has been developing a new strategic plan.
